Abstract
This article has a different point of view toward mosque, and in a case study we work on the function of management system of a successful mosque in a religious city of Iran. The studied mosque is San’atgaran mosque in Mashhad in which people are trained according to Islamic processes and purposes. The aim of this article is to analyze our hypothesis on the reasons of success in this mosque. The hypothesis firstly states that we have to respect mosque according to divine rules to maintain its basic position (which is training people of Islamic society). This is the most prominent and probably the only way to success. Afterward, we offer a meaning model (systemic model of the process of reviving the mosque). Secondly, we study the function and results of a mosque according to the propounded hypothesis in the article. Finally, the hypothesis of this study, which is “the necessity of relying on Islamic traditions of mosque for its revival”, is confirmed in the case of San’atgaran mosque. The applied research method in part one is the survey method by studying religious and historical documents and books. In part two, case study method is applied, and data is gathered through direct interview and observation (the researcher as a non-interfering player).
