Abstract

Despite the growing interest in business divestiture, there is a lack of illustrating framework for divestiture research. The purpose of this research is to present a macro picture and provide valuable insight into the position and trend of research in this field to be helpful for future research. In this research, the bibliometric method was used, which identifies the trends and thoughts of thinkers in this field. The most important authors and journals between 1994 and 2023 have been identified. Ms. Feldman is the most active and influential author in this field, and the Journal of Strategic Management has the most published articles with 28 frequencies. The words performance, diversification, governance, and sale assets are the keywords that have been repeated the most. Based on the results of the histogram mapping, three research paths have been identified, in the first area, the effect of strategies such as acquisition and diversification as a stimulus has been examined, the second area deals with the effect of corporate governance, and the third area examines the consequences of divestment.
